Langley Rams head coach Howie Zaron came prepared for the weather.

He showed up Friday afternoon at SMF Field — home of a wind-chill factor of -27 degrees Celsius — wearing shorts.

Yes, shorts.

Zaron also plans to wear them Saturday on the sidelines during the 2018 Canadian Bowl against the reigning four-time champion Saskatoon Hilltops.

It’s called leading by example and it has nothing to do with stupidity.

“I am wearing the shorts,” promised Zaron. “I told the boys that I’m wearing shorts. Listen, I’ve got to do what I say, right?”

Who’s to argue?
