BC LIONS
British Columbia Football Conference Players of the Week
Week 8
OFFENCE
Kelton Kouri / RB / Okanagan Sun
17 carries for 136 yards
1 reception 7 yards & 1 TD
The Okanagan Sun ventured into a tough place to win Saturday afternoon in battling the VI Raiders in Nanaimo. Making matters more difficult was the fact that the clubs starting QB was on the shelf, meaning the running game would need to be counted on just a little bit more than usual.
Kelton Kouri was up to the challenge in a big way with the best performance of his 2018 season and in fact his BCFC career in ripping off 136 yards on the ground against a stingy Raiders defense.
DEFENSE
Dawson Davis / LB/ Valley Huskers
8 tackles / 1 sack / 1 interception
The Valley Huskers Dawson Davis went into the weekend tilt against the Westshore Rebels already leading the conference in tackles and he had another big afternoon as his team came out on top in a critical game.
If he wasn’t making life difficult in the pocket for Rebels QB Mason Brown, he was making tackles just across the line of scrimmage.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Isaac Wegner / K / Okanagan Sun
5 of 5 converts / 4 of 4 field goals
This is the second straight and 3rd BC Lions POW for Isaac and its a virtual mirror image of last week when he was perfect as well with 5 of 5 in field goals and 4 of 4 converts. His punting didn’t have to be deep this week as the Sun kept the Raiders on a long field most of the day, but it was pinpoint in making returns difficult.
