Week Eight  – Rewind

Okanagan place kicker Isaac Wegner booted five field goals in the Sun’s win over the Valley Huskers on Saturday. It was the second time this year that Isaac kicked five field goals. He becomes only the second player in BCFC history to kick five field goals twice in the same season. He joins former Sun kicker Steven Shott who accomplished the feat in 2009.

Langley Rams running back Maximillian Joseph had 24 carries for 226 rushing yards in the Rams win over the Westshore Rebels. It was the first 200-yard game in Maximillians BCFC career and he is the first Rams running back to put up over 200 in thirteen years. The last Rams player to rush for 200 or more yards was Eric Wenzoski, who had 270 in a game against the Abbotsford Air Force in 2005.

Vancouver Island Raider defensive back Jeremie Cheng had two interceptions in the game against Kamloops on the weekend. The two interceptions gives Jeremie 14 in his career. He is on a pace that could see him catch the Raiders career mark of 21, which is held by Raiders defensive coordinator Karim Maher, who played with the Raiders from 2005-2007.

Westshore Rebels “Mr. Everything”, Cody Holmes, rarely left the field in the game against Langley last week. He was active in all three phases of the game and led in three categories. On the offensive side, Cody led the Rebels and had a game high in pass receiving yards with 69 on 2 receptions. On the defensive side, Cody picked off a game high 2 Rams passes, one of which he returned 65-yards. And on special teams, he had 2 missed field goal returns for 57 yards, which tied a Rebels record for the most missed field goal returns in a game.

Valley Huskers receiver Brandon Poulin set a record for pass receptions in a season. His 9 receptions on Saturday against the Sun gives him 52 on the season. He breaks the record of 47        that Tyron Ledingham set in 2014
