Week Five  – Rewind

The Valley Huskers’ win over the Kamloops Broncos last week, was their first in Kamloops since 2013 and pushed their 2018 record to 4 wins against 1 loss. It’s their best start to a season since 2008, when they started the year with a 5-win 1-loss record. The win in Kamloops was also their third consecutive win this season. The last time the Huskers won three games in a row also came in 2008.

Huskers’ Ethan Homan tied a Huskers’ game record from 2017 for the longest kick-off in a game. Ethan boomed an 85-yarder against the Broncos Saturday. He ties the record that was set by Danny Harris.

The Langley Rams’ 20-18 win over the Okanagan Sun was the first win for Langley in Kelowna since 2012. It was also Matt ‘Snoop’ Blokkers 90th win in the BCFC. The victory improved Matts CJFL coaching record to 108 wins, 30 losses and 2 ties, the second best in CJFL history.

The win by the Rams was also their 195th all-time. They have played in 341 BCFC games, dating back to 1976.

Okanagan Sun linebacker Conor Richard registered his 5th career blocked kick against the Rams. It ties the Sun’s all-time record of 5 with Brennan Van Nistelrooy, who played with the Sun from 2011, 2013-2015

Vancouver Island Raiders’ quarterback Jake Laberge became the 16th BCFC quarterback all-time to surpass 300 pass completions in a career. Jake now has 308. The record is 590 that is owned by former Raiders QB Jordan Yantz (2008-2012).
