It was to be a small victory, a damage-minimizing goal-line stand, a second-down stop that was going to hold the Valley Huskers to three points instead of a touchdown on Saturday in Chilliwack.
Instead, the visiting Kamloops Broncos, in dire need of a victory to keep their slim B.C. Football Conference playoff hopes alive, went offside on third down to give Valley a fresh set of downs, new life used to plunge over the goal line for six points.
