Kodiaks founder and businessman Craig Briere is an alumnus of the Regina Rams going back to that organization’s days in the CJFL, perhaps giving Briere a lofty goal of replicating the Ram’s junior success. While that record of dominance may be too much to ask, largely due to the level of grass roots amateur football in Saskatchewan that doesn’t exist in Britisg Columbia, the Kodiaks do have 5 AA high schools in their backyard (soon to be 6) to work with. Couple that

with the programs “Kodiak Elite Football Academy” that’s geared to growing football in the region and it’s clear the Kodiaks are working to put pieces in place for success on and off the field long term.

Although the Kodiaks didn’t see a lot of wins this season, finishing at the bottom of the standings with a 1-9 record, the game day fan experience was as good as it gets in junior football, ensuring the fan base will be back in 2023.

While the club never stated a goal of how many wins and losses it had for the inaugural season, it’s clear Briere had higher expectations. Head coach Keon Raymond was replaced by former Okanagan Sun head Jamie Boreham who also takes on the title of director of football operations
