Coming off  a three year run atop the BCFC, culminating in the club’s first national championship in 2021, the Langley Rams seemed poised to threaten for a 4th straight conference title this season. While the Canadian Bowl of the previous season was thanks in no small part to what arguably was one of the top defences ever to step on to a CJFL field, one that saw a fair amount of loss to graduation, the Rams seemed to have the pieces in place to take a run at a repeat.

The Langley Rams fully expected another Cullen Cup in the trophy case if not a Canadian Bowl.

The Rams would be embarrassed in a season opening 36-20 home loss to the Westshore Rebels. A second straight home loss, this time to 2021 Cullen Cup finalists Okanagan might have been expected, but when the Rams fell to 0-3 with a loss in Chilliwack to the Fraser Valley rival Huskers. A loss to the cross town rivals that the Rams had never lost to before exposed cracks in the foundation.

While the Rams would go 5-2 the rest of the regular season, the 5 wins would come against Raider, Kodiaks and Broncos teams that would miss the play-offs. A second loss to the Huskers, this time at home, coupled with a 42-10 blowout loss in Kelowna to the Sun in week 9 meant that the Rams would go winless against BCFC play-off teams.

The Langley Rams  limped into the Apple Bowl for a semi-final against the Sun that the first place Sun would dominate 44-20, putting an end to a season the Langley Rams franchise would just as soon forget.
