It’s not uncommon for at least one head coaching change to take place during the course of a BCFC season. But 2022 saw 4 moves, with 3 of those coming from the locker rooms of clubs that would make the play-offs this past season.

March 2; The Okanagan Sun announced that reigning BCFC coach of the year Jamie Boreham would not be returning in a move that likely caught many off guard. Offensive coordinator Travis Miller would take over, be named conference coach of the year himself and lead the club to a Canadian Bowl victory months later.

October 18; News came out of Langley that Cory Philpot, who guided the Rams to the club’s only national championship in 2021 wouldn’t be returning. 10 days later, Jordan McCarty, who served as Rams QB coach the past 3 seasons was named new Rams head coach.

November 6; The Westshore Rebels unveiled co-head coach Dexter Janke as head coach in a move that was expected. The club previously announced on October 26 that Shane Beatty was stepping down, although Beatty had been public for weeks he would not be returning in 2023.

December 18; Expansion franchise Prince George Kodiaks went 1-9 with Keon Raymond on the sidelines but there was nothing from the Kodiaks headquarters to indicate Raymond would not be with the club in year two. On this day came a media release that former Okanagan Sun head coach Jamie Boreham was the new Kodiaks head coach & director of football operations.
