THIS WEEK IN THE BCFC

Okanagan Sun 5-0 @ Westshore Rebels 5-1

Saturday 4:00 PM, Starlight Stadium

The second meeting of the season between these two teams with the Sun hammering the Rebels 65-29 August 13th in Kelowna.

After a contest that saw the Sun come out firing on all cylinders and the Rebels unable to get into any rhythm of their own, it’s hard to imagine the Sun 36 point differential being overcome even if the Rebels do win to split the series at 1-1. Still, Westshore will be looking to punch the visitors in the mouth to restore some confidence should they meet again in the post- season.

And a Rebels win would open the door for first place at season’s end should the Sun lose another game in the home stretch.

Valley Huskers 4-2 @ VI Raiders 1-5

Saturday, 5:30 PM NDSS Field

The Huskers come into this game riding a big win over their Fraser Valley rival Langley Rams while the Raiders have dropped 4 straight and are dealing with the distraction of a break-in at the team practice facility this week that has put a financial strain on a team already in the midst of a frustrating, very “un VI Raider-like” season.

The first of three straight home games that really is a must win if the Raiders are to have post season aspirations.

Langley Rams 2-4 @ Prince George Kodiaks 1-4

Saturday 7:00 PM, Masich Place Stadium

This game may not have the “first place” lustre of the Rebels/ Sun match-up earlier in the day but it is interesting in its own right.

The Rams post Canadian Bowl season has gone just about as bad as could be imagined and losing to the expansion Kodiaks, albeit after a long road trip would be crippling with just three games left to play. This is must win territory for the Langley Rams

While Prince George currently sits in 6th place, the Kodiaks are looking up at the Rams and the 2-4 Kamloops Broncos. Starting this weekend the Kodiaks play the Rams, Broncos twice and again the Rams over the next 4 games. The expansion team is likely feeling play-off confident heading into the weekend
