The British Columbia Football Conference is excited to make an announcement regarding a major addition to its 2022 broadcasting schedule!

This season, in addition to all games being available on PPV at BCFCTV.com the conference will also broadcast a game of the week live on Telus! Channel 1999 will be the home of the British Columbia Football Conference and will allow BCFC fans who are Telus customers to watch their home team from the comfort of their living room.

This broadcasting partnership isn’t just about giving current BCFC fans a chance to watch their home team according to BCFC President Tyler Mclaren.

“For our conference, for our teams…this about creating new fans and new sponsorship opportunities for our franchises. The BCFC was the leader in the CJFL when we created our conference streaming site  that provided a single platform that was easy to find for our fans and generated increased streaming revenues for our teams.

“Finally having games live on TV is a whole different level to raise our conference profile. This will increase attendance at the gates in the long run. It will provide teams the ability to bring their own sponsors to their televised games in addition to the conference title sponsor. I believe it will also raise the profile of the BCFC in the football communities throughout the country who have Telus and should be a recruiting tool for our teams.

“The CJFL hasn’t had a game broadcast live since 1997 when the Okanagan Sun hosted the Regina Rams in the Canadian Bowl. If you had told me then it would be 25 years before our league was back on TV I would have been disappointed and probably said you were crazy. But this is a new start and our hope is we aren’t going to look back. Our hope is that the PFC and OFC teams follow us in 2023 if not sooner.”

Telus broadcasts of BCFC games are sponsored by:

97 Way Home Real Estate Group exp Realty Okanagan

Coast to Coast Real Estate Team exp Realty Vancouver Island

BC Lions football club that also supports the BCFC and amateur football throughout the province with the in stadium and on-line 50/50.

The 2022 Telus season kicks off July 23rd in Chilliwack as the Valley Huskers host the expansion Prince George Kodiaks.

In addition to a game of the week, the two BCFC semi-final games and Cullen Cup championship will also be live on Telus channel 1999.

The full slate of Telus games will be released Thursday, July 21.
