Kodiaks eclipsed on home turf

The Kodiaks obviously watched the previous week’s game film, when Hardisty steamrolled the Kamloops Broncos with 142 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 70-3 whitewash. For the most part on Saturday they shut down the Victoria native, who played at York University last year, after two seasons with the Westshore Rebels. Prince George native and Sun running back Justin Lutes also did some damage, rushing for 55 yards on five carries.

As effective as they were at stopping him the run, the Kodiaks’ pass coverage was definitely not up to snuff and Sun quarterbacks Liam Kroeger and Marcus Christos picked them apart. Case in point: Seth Famakinde’s 14-yard sideline scamper – there wasn’t a Kodiak in sight when he caught the ball and took it to the house.
