2017 Husker Award Winners
Awards and accolades were handed out in abundance at the Valley Huskers season wrap up banquet held on Sunday at the Coast Hotel in downtown Chilliwack. After what was considered by most a very successful season, six players graduated from the Junior Football program leaving a solid determined group to carry the torch next year. Head Coach Reist inspired the young players and thanked the graduating players for their commitment as he handed out the much coveted trophies. GM Agagnier received a standing ovation from those in attendance when he was thanked by Coach Reist for his efforts over this past season. Katy Bergen was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for all her hard work taking care of the players in her position as Head Trainer. After a great lunch and much back slapping, hugs and photographs, the players were encouraged by Coach Reist to work hard over the winter in preparation for the 2018 season. The board announced at the dinner that Coach Reists contract, which already has one year left on it, will be extended for another year. That announcement garnered cheers from everyone in attendance.
