Players of the Week

August 22, 2017

Week 4 – BCFC Players of the Week

Offense – Trey Campbell, RB-Westshore Rebels

16 carries, 150 yards, 2TDS

5 receptions, 115 yards, 1TD

Trey Campbell was injured in week one and unavailable to assist his club in a pair of tight wins. He returned Saturday afternoon against the Langley Rams and showed the rest of the BCFC they will have their hands full in trying to slow him down. Campbell ran over, around and through the Rams running the ball…oh and he also ran past them on the way to catching the ball as well.

On the day he racked up 265 of the Rebels 363 offensive yards.

Defense – TIE

Defensive Line, Quinton Bowles-VI Raiders

5 sacks, 1 tackle, 1 assisted tackle

Defensive Back, Aldrich Berrios-Okanagan Sun

4 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery

This had to be a tie as there were two very exceptional performances put forward by Bowles and Berrios.

Quinton Bowles returning from the Manitoba Bisons was a boon to the Raiders defense and he created all sorts of trouble for the Broncos offensive line Saturday as he tied a BCFC and CJFL record with 5 sacks.

Aldrich Berrios is a basketball player with UBC-Okanagan and the 21 year old is on the gridiron for the first time since high school at Notre Dame in Vancouver. He was unbeatable by the Huskers receivers Saturday as he tied a Sun record with 4 interceptions.

Special Teams-Returner, Brycen Mayoh-VI Raiders

5 put returns for 96 yards & 1 TD

2 kick returns for 38 yards

2 missed FG returns for 158 yards and 1 TD (128 yards)

Mayoh already has one POW to his credit for his offensive exploits in week one but Saturday he had a record setting day on special teams. In case you missed his BCFC record setting MFG return, here it is.

The second year Raider chipped in 4 receptions for 110 yards and a TD as well. On the day,  Brycen had a whopping 402 all purpose yards.
