The Ron White award was established to represent the blue collar hard working image of this league; the respect and the recognition gained by ethical conduct, involvement and recognition within the community. We have had 14 amazing young men who have won this award since 2002.

Once again this starts with a very special team, the Westshore Rebels who in 2014 committed to make a positive impact on their community as well as helping with the development of community football on the Island. In 2014, the players, coaches and directors volunteered 209 hours to their community, that level of commitment is truly outstanding. In 2015 they went a step further with a new and deeper. Commitment to the community. “Bold, Strong, Competitive and Involved” They have continued this incredible commitment to the community in 2016 as well as becoming a very competitive football team on the field.

This year are pleased to recognize Ryan Allard as the 2016 recipient of the Ron White Award . He is a second year player from Victoria.  His commitment to the Rebels on and off the field is amazing.  HE PARTICIPATED IN 100 % OF THE ALL THE COMMUNITY EVENTS:

  • Participated in the Langford Legion Remembrance Day Services
  • Volunteered and gave blood for the BC Blood Drive
  • Participated in the  Wounded Warrior Run
  • Volunteered for the Colwood Lighthouse Community Day
  • Participated in the McDonald McHappy Days
  • Volunteered for the BC Children’s Hospital Kids Day  Fundraiser
  • Volunteered at the Thunder Bowl
  • Participated in the Rebels Kids Football Camp
  • Guest coach for GVMFL youth football
  • Walked in the Santa Claus Kids Parade.

Head Coach JC Boice provided the following comment.

“Ryan continually seeks opportunities to serve his community. He is also first to volunteer, first to show up and last to leave. He not only sees this as his duty to build the community but a privilege to serve his community. Parents and volunteers from the Westshore Community have nothing but the highest praise for this young man and his commitment to make a difference.”

It is my pleasure to announce that Ryan Allard is the 2016 winners of the Ron White Award.
