Editors note; Simonise signing already approved by CJFL commissioner

The Okanagan Sun have a former NFLer on their roster and the Saskatoon Hilltops are crying foul.

Receiver Rashaun Simonise, who had a pair of catches in NFL pre-season with the Cincinnati Bengals, joined the Sun this week just in time for the Canadian Bowl rematch Saturday night between the Sun and the visiting Hilltops at the Apple Bowl.

“I hope the league investigates this,” says Hilltops head coach Tom Sargeant. “Here’s a guy who was getting paid, made a lot of money to compete there (NFL training camp) and we are amateur football. I’m curious to see how the commissioner weighs in on this and makes a decision because it’s a little different than what we normally do.”
