Offensive Player of the Week
Jamel Lyles RB Westshore Rebels
32 carries / 270 yards / 1 TD

Jamel, who recently transferred from the University of Manitoba was seemingly unstoppable as he ran over, around and through the Vancouver Island Raiders defense as his club moved to 2-0 on the season with a 45-22 win over the cross island rivals. It was the first Rebels win in 25 tries against the Raiders, making the win a major one for his team past and present.
Defensive Player of the Week
Shaun Robinson LB Westshore Rebels
6 tackles / 1 assist/.5 sack/1 fumble recovery/1 forced fumble
Robinson is in his first season with the Rebels out of Halifax. The coast to coast travel to play football paid dividends for the Rebels in Saturday night’s win. Down 20-17 at the half, the Rebels defense pretty much shut the door the rest of the way as the Raiders managed just 109 yards offense in the second half.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Tiernan Docherty P/K Langley Rams
5 punts 47.6 AVG/6 kick offs 62.5 AVG/4of 4 converts/2 of 2 field goals, longest 50 yards
The Rams blasted the Valley Huskers 39-0 Saturday night and a large part of the reason was the Rams opponent played on a long field due to the exploits of Docherty who joins the Rams this season out of Simon Fraser University. Docherty established a Rams record on the night with a 78 yard punt and tied a club record with a 85 yard kick off.
