Reporters from 5 cities give their two cents on the weekend games

Reporters from BCFC cities give their two cents on how the teams are going to fair this week. Thanks to Marty Hastings (Kamloops this Week), Warren Henderson (Kelowna Daily Courier), Eric Welsh (Chilliwack Progress), Gary Ahuja (Langley Times) and Don Descoteau (Goldstream Gazette)

Its rivalry week in the BCFC as the matchups are geographical in nature with the Raiders visiting the Rebels, the Rams in Chilliwack to take on the Huskers and the Sun travelling to Kamloops. All games are Saturday night @ 7PM so if you were planning on catching more than one you are out of luck!

*Don & Gary are away this week

Langley Rams (0-1) @ Valley Huskers (0-1)

Eric- The Rams will be a grumpy bunch coming off a week one loss to Victoria's Westshore Rebels, and will take their frustration out on Chilliwack. The Huskers offence will struggle against a stout Langley D. The feisty Chilliwack defence will keep it close for a while, but wear down late against Nathan Lund and the Ram attack. 38-17 Rams

Marty- The Rams came on strong in the second half last weekend in a loss to the Rebels. Look for Langley to pick up where it left off and roll this weekend in Chilliwack. Rams 42 Huskers 13

Warren- In the ill-equipped Huskers, the Rams will get just the medicine they need to bounce back from last week's season-opening loss to Westshore. Langley takes it 41-13

Okanagan Sun (1-0) @ Kamloops Broncos (0-1)

Eric- Don't let the 56-14 score fool you. The Okanagan Sun offence ran hot and cold in a week one win over the Valley Huskers. The Sun will struggle against a veteran Broncos defence. But the Kamloops offence, still finding its way with a whole new cast of characters, won't score enough to produce the upset. 27-14 Sun

Marty- The Broncos’ defence may be improved, but it will likely struggle to stifle an Okanagan offence that was sparked last weekend by QB Keith Zyla. The Sun should move to 2-0, while the Broncos will likely drop to 0-2. Sun 48 Broncos 14

Warren-With more than 30 new players and a new head coach getting their feet wet last week, look for the Sun to be better tuned for Week 2 against Kamloops. The Broncos are well-coached and on their home soil, but will still be overmatched by the defending B.C. Football Conference champs. Sun wins 30-14

VI Raiders (1-0) @ Westshore Rebels (1-0)

Eric- The Rebel ground game bludgeoned Langley in week one, rolling up 296 rushing yards. They won't repeat that feat against a tough Raider D, and Westshore quarterback Ashton McKinnon will have his hands full facing a ball-hawking Nanaimo secondary that thrives on creating turnovers. The Raiders will roll to victory in the Battle of the Island. 34-13 Raiders

Marty- Westshore held on to knock off Langley in Week 1 and KTW is picking the Rebels to move to 2-0 this weekend. Jamel Lyles is a game breaker and he might be the difference this weekend. Rebels 26 Raiders 24

Warren- For much of the past decade the Raiders have dominated this island matchup but the tables may be turning. Coming off a spirited opening week win over Langley, look for Shane Beatty, Jamel Lyles and the Rebels to prevail in an intense battle. Westshore 27 VI 21
